The size of the town means that Zell am See has a wide choice of different types of accommodation - ranging from lakeside villas used by the well-off in the early 20th century through to more modern all-inclusive resort-style hotels.
The neighbouring village of Schüttdorf at the south end of the lake offers a different character but equally good access to the ski slopes.

finding your way around the resort
The accommodation listed individually below are four and five star hotels in Zell am See or in the neighbouring suburb of Schüttdorf. Some of the hotels are located near the Schmittenhöhe lift which is about 2km from the centre of the town.
Larger four-star hotels are common in the resort and many hotels have extensive wellness and leisure facilities to relax in after the day's skiing.
Most accommodation is within easy reach of lifts giving access into the ski area. The central part of Zell am See is easily traversed on foot but ski buses may be needed for accommodation outside the central area.

The building was first mentioned way back in the 15th century and has been run by the same family since the middle of the 19th century. The hotel at the northern end of Lake Zell around 2km from the centre of Zell am See and is especially well-suited for drivers who also want to sample other ski resorts in the area, such as Saalbach-Hinterglemm or Kaprun.

The Hotel Berner has an enviable location in Zell am See with panoramic views over the lake.
