Westendorf markets itself as a family-friendly ski resort. Like other villages in the Ski Welt, it has however also gained a reputation as a cheap and cheerful destination for groups from the UK, Ireland and Holland.
It is Westendorf's range of accommodation and skiing that has always made it a popular holiday choice, but the addition of the new link to the Kitzbühel and Kirchberg ski area, means that it now deserves attention from all keen skiers who are contemplating visiting Austria.
Elevation: 800 metres
Location: 6363 Westendorf - Tyrol - Austria
Westendorf was once a traditional farming village in the Brixen valley on the route between Wörgl and Kitzbühel. The village lies on a plateau, which is slightly raised above the valley and the main transport routes of the road and rail connections below.
Originally popular for its range of cheap pensions and guesthouses, Westendorf
has seen a range of top-quality hotels added to its range of accommodation
and now attracts all kinds of skier, from families looking for affordable stays
to couples looking for the latest in wellness and relaxation.
