Although Hinterglemm is at the end of the Glemm valley it is still only 18km from the entrance - not a tremendous distance to travel on a road which is well-maintained in winter. Hinterglemm traffic is kept away from the village by the tunnel which runs under the ski lifts on the northern right-hand side of the valley.
There is also a good bus service up and down the valley for those wishing to ski or party in Saalbach.
The boxes below include four and five star hotels in Hinterglemm. Almost all of the accommodation is in the central part of the resort around the cluster of lifts on both sides of the upper valley.
Accommodation is convenient for the ski lifts and for the après-ski and nightlife once the skiing has shut down. The resort is livelier than it once was but Saalbach still probably has the edge when it comes to a party atmosphere.
Some options are along the main road in the upper part of the Glemm valley between Saalbach and Hinterglemm and there are a few choices up near the Hochalmbahn lift.
