The sizeable Snow Space Salzburg ski area in the Pongau is getting even larger this winter with a new lift linking into the nearby Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski runs.
Skiers at the top of the Flachau area have always been able to see the runs and lifts at the Shuttleberg mountain between Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl.
Now, with the new Panorama Link lift on the slopes above Wagrain, the Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl area will be linked into the Snow Space Salzburg, which includes Flachau, Wagrain, St Johann im Pongau and Alpendorf.
The Shuttleberg ski area links in its turn to the World Cup resort of Zauchensee. This means that winter sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the whole three ski areas in just one day. These include varied downhill runs with predominantly blue and red ski slopes, 70 mountain lifts, and an altitude of over 1500 metres which guarantees winter sports enthusiasts the best quality snow and excellent slope conditions in the early and late seasons.
Currently, the short 400 metres below the Tauern motorway which connects Flachauwinkl to Zauchensee is covered by ski bus. A new lift to connect the two is planned by the Shuttleberg and Zauchensee lift companies and is currently in the official approval process.
